Visit us at the Tourism Indaba 2013

The Tourism Indaba is one of the largest tourism marketing events on the African calendar and will take place from 11 – 14 May 2013 at the Albert Luthuli Convention Centre (Durban ICC). This four day trade event attracts over 13,000 delegates from all over the world and showcases the widest variety of South Africa’s best tourism products.

The Cape Town Diamond Museum is proud to be a part of this prestigious event and looks forward to welcoming delegates to our stand. From exploring the history of the South African diamond rush, to discovering the world’s most famous diamonds, visitors can learn more about what the museum has to offer.

On display at the Cape Town Diamond Museum stand will be the oldest substance known to man, Peridotite. This dense, coarse-grained igneous rock formed over 3.5 billion years ago, and contains single-celled micro-organisms, the first form of life on earth. The iron and magnesia-rich rock is the most common host for naturally occurring diamonds.

The Cape Town Diamond Museum will also be unveiling a one-of-a-kind diamond at the Indaba, which will be announced on Wednesday 8 May 2013. This diamond is not quite what you would expect and is a magnificent example of Mother Nature’s imagination shining through in its unique design.

Delegates visiting our stand can stand a chance to WIN a diamond a day. Four diamonds will be given away for the duration of the Indaba. To enter, delegates simply need to visit our stand DECIE03 in DEC Hall 1 and drop off their business card.
