Celebrity Heart-Shaped Diamond Engagement Rings
A heart-shaped diamond engagement ring is truly a unique and romantic cut. This beautiful and symbolic diamond shape is a popular choice amongst those who wish to stand out, and less common choice amongst traditional brides who may prefer a solitaire or three stone diamond ring. The heart-shaped diamond dates back to the late 1400s when the diamond cut was considered a symbol of royalty. Today in the 21st century, it’s adored by many, particularly celebrities. Let’s take a look at some of the most renowned and beautiful celebrity heart-shaped diamond engagement rings:

1. Lady Gaga’s 6-carat Diamond Ring
Top of our list is Lady Gaga’s gorgeous heart-shaped engagement ring, which sent the jewellery world into a frenzy, reviving new interest in this romantic diamond shape. Lady Gaga’s ex-fiancé actor Taylor Kinney, proposed on Valentine’s Day 2015 with the dazzling 6-carat diamond ring, valued at an estimated $500,000 (R7,6 million). The diamond-studded ring featured a sweet engraved message on the pavé-encrusted band: T (HEARTS) S (given her name is Stefani). The couple called off their engagement in July 2016.

2. Nicki Minaj’s 15-carat Fancy Yellow Diamond Ring
If anyone can pull off a massive diamond-studded heart-shaped engagement ring, it’s Nicki Minaj! The hip-hop star started dating rapper, Meek Mill back in 2013, and in April 2014 the couple announced their engagement by sharing a photo of the stunning 15-carat fancy yellow diamond ring on Instagram, valued at an estimated $500,000 (R7,6 million). The shape of the diamond is emphasized by the double halo of pavé diamonds, which is ideal for those who don’t shy away from the spotlight. Sadly, the couple split in January 2017.

3. Gwen Stefani’s Beautiful Heart-shaped Ring
Celebrity couple favourite, Gwen Stefani and Gavin Rossdale, have been together for almost an eternity (by Hollywood standards anyway) so we think she deserves to pull an engagement ring switcheroo. The original ring that Gavin proposed with was a thick band with diamonds down the middle, which she often wore with two bands, depending on her outfit. Shortly after their wedding, the No Doubt star was spotted wearing a heart-shaped ring with a different band. It could have been an engagement ring upgrade or possibly an anniversary ring.

4. Katie Price’s Eye-catching Ring
British model and reality star Katie Price’s known for her love of bright, eye-catching accessories and her engagement ring from Argentinian model Leandro Penna was no different. Set in a halo of dazzling diamonds, the large pink heart-shaped diamond engagement ring cost a modest $19,500 (R297 392), but Katie returned it when she found out that Penna allegedly failed to settle the bill for it. The couple got engaged in 2012 and split shortly after. Today the ring is valued at $32,500 (R495 654).

5. Allegra Riggio’s Unique Engagement Ring
Mad Men star Jared Harris proposed to his long-time girlfriend, Allegra Riggio, with a beautiful heart-shaped engagement ring, which was designed by Allegra herself alongside the jeweller. The TV and radio personality wanted a unique engagement ring that was a little bit different from the traditional engagement ring style. The stunning sparkler features a heart-shaped diamond in a rose-gold setting, with smaller diamonds placed around the band and an “H” initial on the gallery (for Harris). The couple announced their engagement via Twitter and Vine, where Riggio showed off her new heart-shaped diamond ring.
